W06 Reflection
There were two things that really
resonated with me this week.
The first one is a quote from
Jan Newman. He says, "One of the things that the world lacks today that
you can fill is integrity and honesty and you will stick out like a sore thumb
out there and people will see that, and they'll like that. And they'll want you
to be a part of what they're doing."
I liked this quote for multiple
reasons but one thing that I like about it is it gives me hope. It gives me
hope because I am 39 years old working through the goal of receiving a
bachelor's degree and I worry sometimes that I have waited to long for my
moment. I truly feel that this isn't true though. My hope is when I am done
with my educational goals, which is still some years from now, that my integrity
and honesty will shine forth and I will still have a chance to make my mark in
the world and do something worthwhile.
The second quote is from N.
Eldon Tanner. He says, "No greater goal could be set, no greater progress
could be made, and no greater joy and satisfaction could be experienced than to
determine that we will accept Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and live
His teachings.
I could not be more grateful to
receive a degree from a church institution. This opportunity allows me to truly
be who I am and express myself in ways I could not do if I was attending a
different school where the way I think, and feel might be frowned upon. I
believe that I will receive the most out of my education because of this
experience. Learning such wholesome and wonderful things while working on a
degree in business I know will help me hold onto my values and standards as I
go forward in my future endeavors as an entrepreneur. Knowing and loving Jesus Christ will bring me much joy and satisfaction though out my life.
