What is your attitude toward money?

My attitude towards money is that everyone needs money to live. It is as important as food, water, and clothing. Money is the very thing that is needed to buy these most important things in our life. Money is not our enemy unless we make it so. It is what we do with our money that matters. We must use the money we make for things that will bring us happiness and joy.

How can your view of money affect the way you live?

My husband and I desire to have financial independence. My husband and I want to provide a wonderful life for our children. I do not view money as a bad thing but as a tool I can use to better the life of my family and those around me. Money can be a blessing in anything that you choose. I am grateful for the money that is put towards groceries each week to feed my family of seven. I am equally grateful for money that allows me to do fun things with the girls I serve in my ward as I use my own money at times for fun activities with them. I don't want to use money in a selfish way but to bless those around me.

What rules are recommended for prospering?

This week Jim Richie said, "My wife Carolyn had very little to do with our business pursuits, but she had everything to do with creating a home and a family life, that allowed me time to pursue our financial independence at such an early age." As a mother and wife, myself sometimes I forget the important role I play. I may not be an entrepreneur right now in the mix of my family life, but I can make my home a place where my husband can pursue financial independence for all of us. I think some rules include putting Christ first in life and in business, working hard, hustling, and including your family in your life's work.
