W02 Reflection

Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams?

I think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because:

1) His parents allowed him to be who he truly is. They let him draw on the walls of his bedroom. He was encouraged to be who he was and not suppress it.

2) He allowed his "brick walls" to push him harder to achieve his goals and dreams.

3) He dreamed big. Like when he went to Disney World and thought he wanted to build things like what he saw there. He wasn't afraid to look beyond his limitations.

4) He lived his life right. He said, "If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself, the dreams will come to you. I believe Randy achieved as much as he did because he was a good man with righteous desires. Karma took care of him, and the his dreams came true.

Do you feel that dreaming is important? Why or why not?

Dreaming is very important because dreams are what drives us to become what we are meant to be. If we do not dream, what are we here for? What is our purpose if we do not have any dreams to go after? I believe dreams are the driving factor to get us from point A to point B. One of my biggest dreams in life was to be a mother and a wife.

Becoming a wife came easy for me. I met my husband when I was eighteen years old. Shortly after I turned nineteen, we were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. I have never looked back and have always been grateful marriage came easy for me and that I chose a good man.

Becoming a mother did not come easy for me. We tried for years without success. I was sad and lost that I couldn't fulfill the divine role of motherhood. It was a huge trial in my life for seven years. Finally, through Chiropractic care and vitamins I was able to get pregnant with my first son. I have been able to get pregnant six times, one was a miscarriage at 12 weeks. I have had five healthy children. What a blessing they have been! I am grateful I never gave up my dream of having children and a big family.

I am grateful for a mother who has always encouraged me throughout
my life in whatever I have worked on to accomplish.
